I feel so isolated, I am the same with mobile phones, I can't work them either. Any other maps you have on your device, you need to select. If someone told me to do something that was going to make my computer explode, I would follow the instructions blindly, simply because I wouldn't know otherwise. Insert the SD card into your Garmin device (or turn off/on if you saved to the device hard drive). Follow the instructions on the website to 'Unlock Map' or 'Retrieve Unlocks'. In the Map Product Manager window, click on the product that needs an unlock code. Then having been told how to do something, there is no way I can remember how to do it again, I think because I have no comprehension of what I am actually doing, I am just doing as I am told, with no understanding of the process. Click on the MapInstall icon at the top left of the program (This will provide a drop-down menu) Click on Manage Map Products. Follow the installer programs prompts to install Garmin MapManager. Locate and double-click on the Install Garmin MapManager icon. Installation Instructions Click on Download and choose to save the file to your computer. Am I the only one who doesn't think like computer things work - it all seems so complicated to me. Retrieve map unlock codes online to unlock map. I think I shall just have to wait until tomorrow and phone Garmin again, and be talked through it. I didn't know I had one - and doesn't ask me for the code when it sends the maps to the Zumo (which is why I don't know about it). I know I have lifetime maps, but I have no idea where this code is. I was following the instructions and it says, even though I am in My Garmin page, it needs the unlock code. Here you may to know how to unlock gmapsupp img. ![]() system folder, run gimgunlock-0.04 on it, copy that to a sub-4GB microSD as gmapsupp.img in a Garmin directory, and finally it looks like it works. Trying to get the rest of Europe onto the computer is the next stage, using Mapinstall, which I have managed to install onto the computer (easier than I thought). All I had to do was use Garmin Express on the LM unit to update the map, enable storage mode on the LM unit using the secret developers menu, copy gmapprom to my HDD from garmin's. They are back in and working now, thankfully. The chap there has managed to get UK Ireland section of my European Lifetime Maps back onto the Zumo for me - it took three phone calls to get it to actually work though. I have been on to Garmin, because despite the efforts of various folks on here, the process is just far to complex for me to complete. ![]() Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the MapInstall installation. Change to the directory in which you downloaded the files, (i.e., c:\garmin), and run the executable file (.exe). Does anyone know where you get the unlock code from after you have bought Lifetime Maps please? Download the MapInstall update file into a directory on your hard drive.
